Fine Arts at SFC
(Use more creative language here). The Fine Arts Department at Sioux Falls Christian School believes that fine arts are essential in a well-rounded education. We provide students with the opportunity to explore art, music, and drama, giving them confidence in their accomplishments.
Students are challenged to use their talents and knowledge in the service of God and others.
Exposure to the arts allows our students to create, interpret, and express God's story in their daily lives.
Instrumental arts teach mastery of memorization, hand-eye coordination, focus, discipline, and the importance of teamwork. The result is beautiful music that glorifies God and brings joy to its listeners.
Elementary students begin their instrumental journey with the chance to participate in the fifth-grade band with two performances a year.

Middle and high school students at SFC are encouraged to get involved and gain experience using their God-given talents in our theater program, including speaking, acting, dancing, singing, playing instruments, sewing costumes, applying stage make-up, creating props, running light and sound equipment, set design and painting, and stage production.

Through vocal music, students focus on developing their vocal passion and skill, expressing thankfulness, and praising the Lord. Music is a part of God's good creation and is a gift our students can enjoy with others. Our students work in harmony to create harmony -- and sometimes dissonance -- both of which give this aspect of God's creation meaning and beauty. Vocal music is an integral part of your child's day, starting in kindergarten.
